Someone who will listen when you are sad or worried

Hello and welcome to my website.  I’m a qualified, BACP registered, experienced and friendly counsellor. I offer counselling sessions in person, either in counselling rooms or via walk and talk therapy. For those wanting online support, I offer face to face, via Zoom or telephone counselling. I work with individual adults of all ages using talking and creative therapies.

If you are reading this page, then I imagine you may be struggling and would like some aspects of your life to be different.  Our day to day lives involve so many demands it can be difficult to give ourselves the attention we need for our own wellbeing. Your concerns may be difficult feelings that are becoming overwhelming or you are experiencing anxiety or depression. Loss or bereavement might be a struggle for you or you feel angry with others or yourself.  Perhaps you are struggling with relationships, or you may be coming to terms with past trauma and you are looking to process your experience and see a way forward.  Or perhaps you simply feel that something in your life is not quite right, even though that something isn’t clear yet.

Talking with someone, who listens and hears you

Talking with someone, who is trained to listen, and who is not part of your life gives you the freedom to focus on yourself.  We don’t always know why we do the things we do and the counselling process enables you and the counsellor to work together to discover the motivations and feelings which could be affecting you in a negative way.  Sharing your anxiety is the first step to making it more manageable, and if you’ve suffered a deep loss then having someone to walk alongside you through your grief can help the healing process enormously.

If you are interested in working with me, you will find more detail on how I work by clicking on “about me” or “individual counselling”.  You can email me to set up an initial introductory free telephone conversation during which we can talk about what you want to hoping for from counselling sessions.  If you are happy to continue then we can set up a our first session and then arrange to meet on a regular basis depending on your needs.

Counselling cannot erase a difficult past, but it can support you in the present and be as you look to the future. Counselling can help to build your internal resources, increase your resilience, and it can enable you to make the changes you desire going forward.

Please do explore my website where you will find out more about me, the way I work and some of the practicalities involved in starting therapy.
